Please see the How do I apply? section below. Our appointment scheduling process has changed!

OCCAC will begin scheduling appointments for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025.

You can call (509) 422-4041 to schedule your appointment only on the 1st or 3rd Thursday of each month.

Do you need help with your heating costs?

OCCAC offers energy assistance through a few different program areas. We can help you pay your existing utility bill, set up a plan to help pay back an existing balance, and help to turn your power back on. Low-income families can get $250 to $1250 to pay for heating bills.

You do not have to receive a shut-off notice to apply for a benefit so don’t wait, appointments will fill up quickly!

OCCAC’s Energy Assistance programs can help with…

  • Payment towards your home heating costs (electric, wood, pellets, propane, or oil).
  • Repair or replacement for heating systems (homeowner only).
  • Purchasing an air conditioner unit.
Are you eligible?
Eligibility is based on several factors, including:

  • Heating Costs
  • Household Income
  • Household size

Click here to learn more about the eligibility guidelines for LIHEAP energy assistance. If you do not qualify for LIHEAP energy assistance due to your household income being higher than the LIHEAP income guidelines, you may still qualify for Washington State’s Home Energy Assistance Program (SHEAP), which has higher income guidelines. Click here for more information on the SHEAP eligibility guidelines.
